The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was founded in locations Lungarella in the years after the earthquake of 1980, by the will of the Parish Priest Fr Michael Cogliani. Each year, the festival is celebrated in honor of the Sacred Heart.

The Church is currently a prefabricated in wood and steel, with the inside covered with wood and containing the statues of St. Gerard and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
